About
Andrea Fernández is a Venezuelan writer who has been living in the U.S. for the past 13 years and now calls Mexico City home. She holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from The New School and has a diverse background in journalism, fashion, and paid media marketing.
Her creative path later expanded into the visual arts, where she found another form of expression. Since 2020, she has been developing and sharing her paintings independently, cultivating a practice rooted in color, memory, and migration.
In 2021, driven by the need to turn grief into art, Andrea independently published the bilingual poetry book Messy Memories/Memorias Desordenadas. She is currently at work on two literary projects: a poetry collection in Spanish exploring cycles of growth and metamorphosis, and her debut novel, which delves into the Venezuelan diaspora and the cultural richness of her homeland through the story of a Venezuelan chef chasing the so-called American Dream, grappling with themes of immigration and gastronomy.
